Thomas Reynolds, an English sailor and merchant, arrives in Portugal in 1820, attracted by the wine business: it is in the city of Porto that he settles with his two sons, Thomas and Robert. Robert subsequently goes to Estremoz and quickly develops with the acquisition of new lands, producing quality wines. The Alentejo becomes the definitive base of the Reynolds in Portugal.
